11:00 Know Your City: Discussing Activism & Art, Know Your City will be talking about their mission of connecting Portland through creative placemaking. From Civil Rights Comic classes for youth, to walking tours for adults, Know Your City is finding creative ways to engage in Portland and we are excited to hear more about their projects.
12:30-2:30 The Records/Coloring Project: Enjoy coloring custom made coloring sheets while listening to records set to match the mood. You can find The Records/Coloring Project around town in some of our favorite neighborhood joints.
2:30 Weaving Together- Weaving Together is a group of Karen (pronounced kuh-ren) Refugee woman who have resettled in Portland from Myanmar and Thailand and continue to weave together, part of the Portland Pathways to Wellness program of Lutheran Community Services Northwest and promotes women's empowerment, healing, cultural adjustment and economic vitality, and the advancement of indigenous knowledge through the practice of weaving. The woman will be sharing some of the traditions of their culture and the benefits of creating art in community.
3:00-4:00 Arts Integration: See what an arts integration education is all about, Buckman teachers will set out a lesson that shows an arts integrated approach to learning.
